Mirsad Dalipi
(drums / Kosovo)
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Mirsad Dalipi was born in 1988 in Pristina (Kosovo) and grew up in Ferizaj. He discovered his musical preferences at the young age of five when he first played the drums. In 2011, together with his friend Bajram Kafu Kinoli, he founded the Gipsy Groove band, which soon released two albums and embarked on tours across Europe, Asia, and the neighbouring region, promoting the values of tolerance and equality. As the founders of the band are Roma, they believed that music was the key to breaking prejudices against the Roma national minority, showcasing their skill in various genres such as jazz funk, groove, DnB, electronic fusion, and more.
Since 2013, Mirsad has been living in Zagreb, where he mainly focuses on music and collaborates with renowned Croatian jazz musicians such as Davor Križić, Joe and Lela Kaplowitz, Zvonimir Bajević, Zvonimir Šestak, Elvis Stanić, Valerija Nikolovska, Dina Rizvić, Miro Kadoić, Elvis Penava, Ivan Kapec, Joe Pandur, Viktor Lipić, Matija Dedić, and others. He is a permanent member of the Balkan Zoo Ensemble, with whom he has recorded four albums: Balkan Zoo, After Shock, Trice, and the latest, Recycle, released by Croatia Records in 2022.
In 2022, he played on the album Strange Beauty by the Davor Doležal Quartet (Croatia Records) and Put u plus by Edo Maajka band (Dallas Records), which received the Rock&Off award for the best album of 2018. They promoted the album throughout the European Union and our region.
