SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Maja Grgić was born in 1979. She discovered her passion for music at a very young age. Her journey as a musician took flight in 2005 when she performed at Lisinski Concert Hall,opening for James Carter. In 2008, she won a prestigious’Status’ music award, honouring her as the best young vocal instrumentalist. In 2009, Maja’s album Crno Bijelo (Black and White) was nominated for two Porin discography awards; for best jazz album and best jazz composition, Dječak Joe (music and lyrics by Maja Grgić, arrangement by Zoran Ščekić).

Maja achieved another milestone in 2012, graduating in song-writing composition and performance from the esteemed London Centre for Contemporary Music, Middlesex University. In 2017 she also performed at the Orsula Festival in front of Bebel Gilberto, alongside her Maja Grgić trio. Throughout her career, Maja has made appearanceson numerous TV shows, radio programs, documentaries,educational shows, etc.
