SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Lana Janjanin, a 33-year-old composer, singer-songwriter, and pianist, was born into a musical family in Zagreb. Her musical journey began at the age of 4 when she started studying music, receiving classical training with a focus on piano and music theory. At 18, Lana pursued her passion for music by enrolling in the study of Classical and media composition at the prestigious University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria, where she obtained her master’s degree.
In addition to her classical education, Lana developed a strong affinity for jazz and soul music, leading her to write her own songs and perform them on the piano. This passion eventually led to the formation of her own ensembles.

In 2018, she released two albums: A Minute of Love, recorded with her jazz ensemble, and Miracles, a double album recorded with HRT Jazz Orchestra in collaboration with fellow composer Dina Rizvić, which earned them recognition as the first women in the history of Croatia to compose, arrange, and perform their opus for a big band.
Since 2021, Lana has been serving as the artistic director of the JazzHR Festival organized by the Croatian Composers’ Society.
