SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Jošt Lampret is one of the most sought-after bass players in Slovenia. He earned his degree in classical double bass from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. His talent has been acknowledged through numerous victories in both national and international classical music competitions. He performs with various bands of diverse styles such as ethno, classical, jazz, and rock. He has collaborated with many accomplished Slovenian and foreign musicians and bands, including Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester, Daniel Rowland, Vlatko Stefanovski, Wiyaala, Jure Pukl, Teo Collori and Momento Cigano, Zoran Marković, Irena Grafenauer, Jean-Christophe Gairard, among many others.
Beyond his role as a sideman, Jošt ventures into creating his own projects where he showcases his talents as a composer and arranger. Some of them include the fusion group P’Jays, Jošt Lampret Trio, the Eastern European Bass Ensemble, and the Nomad Flamenco band.
