SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Borna Pehar, born in 1997, is a pianist and composer from Zadar, Croatia. He completed his primary and secondary music education in Zadar before pursuing one year of Classical music studies in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

However, he made the decision to discontinue his classical studies and shifted his focus to jazz piano at the Kärntner Landeskonservatorium in Klagenfurt, Austria, under the guidance of Robert Bargad.

Following the successful completion of his bachelor’s degree in Klagenfurt, he continued his master’s studies at the prestigious Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.

Borna actively participated in various jazz workshops, with one notable experience being the Jazz Clinic in Velenje, which he attended three times and had the privilege of working and studying with renowned musicians like Danny Grissett, Joel Ross, and Marko Churnchetz.

In October 2019, Borna’s trio participated in the 8th Croatian Competition for Young Music Artists “Boris Papandopulo,” and they were honoured with the 2nd prize by the expert jury.

Additionally, he was selected as a finalist in the music category for “Večernjakova domovnica,” an event held in Frankfurt in 2020.
